Rainbowy colors with a touch of furry decorations and sometimes black and white sleek fringe nails.

My inspirations come from the blossoming of nature or an afternoon tea party.

It’s about the possibility and the flow for me when it comes to my art.

Capturing special moments is my forte, and those photos are an inspiration to me.

Q：Can you tell us about yourself? (name, astrological sign, and personality.)

Everyone calls me by my last name- SHYN. I’m a Virgo and like to travel, space out, and ponder about matters in life.

Q：How did you begin your nail art journey?

It was eye-opening to discover that we could place countless shiny objects on a piece of nail. Out of curiosity, I started surfing through various arts and Japan 109 culture for trendy tips, and that’s when I started to create.

I can be a quitter sometimes, so realizing that I’ve dedicated 3 to 4 years to nail art, and still have a passion for it, it’s been a blessing. I’d like to expand my horizons in the field.

Q：Which artists influenced your art?

The greatest influence might be Vivien Westwood for me. I’ve always loved her punk spirit and culture. She is extremely passionate about what she loves to do, and I aim to do the same!

And of course, the beloved nail artist- Nails By Mei. She has done nails for Watanabe Naomi, Grimes, and other big names in the fashion industry. Her unique creativity and experiences are also what I hope I gain one day.

Q：What do you particularly like to do when not creating nail art?

I’ve been trending different things. Recently, I got into glass art and would love to take lessons!

Grocery shopping is also very fun, especially at the spice aisle. What the spices do is a little similar to nail art which is, awesome embellishments!

Q：Where did you get inspiration from for the long and slightly-curved nails?

I dream a lot about strange things, and sometimes, an image would flash through my mind. I like to do nails while listening to music and organically come up with the designs.

Q：Nail art and shoes can be a cherry on the top of an outfit. What inspired you to wear the inooknit zebra flats?

I like how zebra print gives fun and edgy vibes, and I like pattern shoes. You can tell a lot from a person’s shoes, just like with nails!

Q：If you had an opportunity to do nails for an internationally renowned artist or performer, who would it be?

Lady Gaga! I’m picturing right now about all types of weird shapes, flowers, and heart shapes decorated with pink glitter and diamonds, matching her beautiful pouf dress.

I would also take the challenge to do A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s nails. A$AP Rocky’s style is very progressive and he gets his nails designed. I’m thinking of lots of red laces with glitters.

Moreover, It’d be cool to do nails for Hunter Schafer from the show Euphoria. She is unapologetically adorable and brave. She seems to wrap her hands with ropes a lot, and that’s unique. I wouldn’t necessarily do crazy designs on her nails. Instead, I’d make a design that speaks more for her style.
